One Team, Focused on One Community

Cherry Creek Youth Sports lacrosse was started in 2010 while working closely with Cherry Creek High School and their lacrosse program. This relationship is based on our mission to help promote the great game of lacrosse in our Cherry Creek community.

Building on the strength of our community, we will have over 50 freshman kids playing this year with Cherry Creek High School and are excited to continue our focus on our core mission:

We are One Team, Focused on One Community!

We are the only Youth Sports organization in the State of Colorado that feeds one High School. We are run by dedicated volunteers that live in this community, attended Creek High School and are focused developing players to be prepared to enter the best High School in the state.

From Cherry Creek High School Head Coach Matt Bocklet

Cherry Creek Lacrosse has earned its status as one of the best youth and high school programs in the state and I am incredibly proud to be part of this community. I am eager to work with the athletes, their families, members of the CC athletic department, and the rest of the lacrosse family at Cherry Creek toward an increasingly exceptional program.

CCYS is a critical part of achieving this goal and therefore is a program I intend to work with very closely. I will work to develop our youth players and coaches to ensure the youth and high school programs directly support one another and are united by: mission, coaching principals, and a desire for excellence. The main goal of this initiative is to have our youth players as prepared as possible to contribute to the High School program when they are Freshman.

As the CCHS high school coach I will be diligent about helping every player improve in lacrosse and I hope to inspire them to grow as individuals, too. Win or lose, I want our athletes to make us proud as members of the Cherry Creek community.

I sincerely appreciate the warm welcome I have received so far, and I am looking forward to our upcoming inaugural season together!

Coach Bocklet

Hello Creek Lacrosse Players and Families,

Welcome to Creek Lacrosse! We are glad you are here! We are looking forward to another great season of lacrosse and can't wait to get started! Please see the information below and get registered and join us! We welcome and have all levels of lacrosse, so get started with Creek!

We will again have a preseason camp (included in registration) to kick off the season! CCHS head lacrosse coach, Matt Bocklet will help facilitate the camp! More information to come!

Practices (2X per week in the evenings on our local fields) begin in early March and games (Saturday's) begin in late March and run through mid to late May. Fingers crossed that we will have a mild spring and that the fields stay dry!

Registration this season will wrap up early (late registration begins January 16th and placement is not guaranteed starting this date) so please register as soon as possible to secure your spot. Once a roster is full, we will be closing teams and will open another team only if we have enough players to fill the roster. Teams fill extremely fast and this season, there will be no exceptions for roster additions. Register early to avoid placement issues.

Please note: Refunds will be given (minus a $50.00 processing and bank fee) through January 15th 2018. Starting January 16th, 2018 to February 28th, 2018, refunds will be given minus $125.00 for processing fees, bank fees and uniform costs. Starting March 1st, 2018, there will not be any refunds granted for any reason including injury, team placement issues, or scheduling conflicts. There will be no exceptions granted.

***We will be using the same uniforms from last season (2017). There is a uniform section on the registration form where you will be able to order a new uniform if needed. New players will need to purchase a full uniform (shorts and jersey) and will need to select 3 possible number selections. Jersey numbers are not guaranteed. For returning players, you have the option to order a whole new uniform or just shorts or just a jersey, or nothing at all. Please enter your number from last seasons jersey on the registration.

This season, lacrosse teams will be organized by grade. We will still consider birth date for players that want/need to play in another division. We hope that will simplify and allow players to play with their correct grade.

Field Positions:

The attackman's responsibility is to score goals and help his teammates score goals by passing the ball. The attackman generally restricts his play to the offensive end of the field. A good attackman demonstrates excellent stick work with both hands and has quick feet to maneuver around the goal. Each team has three attackmen on the field during play.

The midfielder's responsibility is to cover the entire field, playing both offense and defense. The midfielder is a key to the transition game, and is often called upon to clear the ball from defense to offense. A good midfielder demonstrates good stick work including throwing, catching and scooping. Speed and stamina are essential. Each team has three midfielders on the field.

The defenseman's responsibility is to defend the goal. The defenseman generally restricts his play to the defensive end of the field. A good defenseman should be able to react quickly in game situations. Agility and aggressiveness are necessary, but great stick work is more essential to attack. Each team has three defenseman on the field.

The goalie's responsibility is to protect the goal and stop the opposing team from scoring. A good goalie also leads the defense by reading the situation and directing the defenseman to react. A good goalie should have excellent hand/eye coordination and a strong voice. Quickness, agility, confidence, and the ability to concentrate are also essential. Each team has one goalie in the goal.

Go Creek!
